THE ESSENTIALS
CGC Program
This program is recommended for owners who are new to training and/or dog ownership and want to bring out the best of their dog. This program starts with the AKC STAR puppy or CGC (depending on your dog's age) and ends with the Canine Good Citizen Urban. Not only will you be training your dog to be an excellent citizen, but you will learn the skills needed to continue your training with little assistance of a professional trainer.

Each course is $225 and consists of one session per week for 6 weeks. Testing is included upon completion of the course. If extra sessions are required, they will be provided at no cost.
ADVENTURE DOGS
Trail and Campsite comfort
The mountains are calling, and we must go! Part of what makes hiking and camping enjoyable is not having to worry about our dogs misbehaving, disturbing wildlife, and destroying our beautiful landscape. It is highly recommended that dogs complete the CGC program before starting this program in order to set up a solid foundation for essential trail behaviors. Balanced training methods will be applied in order to maintain safety, meaning a quality e-collar will be required. Please refer to the Training Style page to learn more about this tool.

This class runs at $50 per hour and is typically conducted at any pet friendly trail, campsite, field, or park.
SERVICE DOGS
Finding Independence
A service dog is defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act as any Dog or Miniature Horse that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a disabled individual. Spectrum Dog Training is dedicated to meeting this definition and providing balanced, confident service dogs. Schedule an interview to see if you are qualified! Interviews are thorough and dog evaluations are strict to ensure that only well-tempered dogs are utilized.

Public access and task training will begin upon completion of the CGC program. If you are starting the program with a dog that has already passed all three tests, the program is not required. Expect the entire service dog training process to last anywhere from 18-24 months.

Service dog specific training runs at $60 per hour and consists of public access exposure and training, and task training specific to the needs of the disabled individual.

SDT does not support nor recognize any paperwork, certifications, or registrations from online sources. There are no federally recognized certifications or registrations for service dogs and, unfortunately, the companies that offer these are simply scams.
